Dancing Through October

From local festivals to charitable walks, Melodic Movements has been dancing its way through the community, bringing joy and artistry to every event we attend. Check out this round-up of events that we supported in October.


Delaware State University's Homecoming Parade



On Oct. 5, MM’s Hockessin Ensemble and Dover's Level 1B classes performed at Delaware State University’s homecoming parade in downtown Dover.


The Dymond Shantyl Dantzler Legacy Foundation’s 9th Annual Unity Walk



The Dover studio’s Level 2 class performed at the Dymond Shantyl Dantzler Legacy Foundation’s 9th Annual Unity Walk at Dover's Silver Lake Park on Oct. 6. The annual event is held every year during Delaware State University’s homecoming weekend to honor Dymond Dantzler, a DSU student who tragically lost her life in 2015. The event also raises scholarship funds for college students.


National Coalition of 100 Black Women, Inc. - Delaware's Black Girls Move Walk



On Oct. 20, MM Founder and Director Melody Hubert, represented the studio as a vendor at the Black Girls Move Walk, hosted by The National Coalition of 100 Black Women, Inc. - Delaware Chapter. The event, which was hosted at Battery Park in New Castle, supported black girls’ health. MM offered attendees brochures, giveaways, and more.


Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc.,-Delta Lambda Chapter's Breast Cancer Awareness Walk


Hockessin's Level 3 Hip Hop class performed at a Breast Cancer Awareness Walk on Oct. 26, hosted by Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc.'s Delta Lambda Chapter. The event was hosted at Delaware State University and aimed to support individuals battling breast cancer, celebrate survivors and honor the lives of loved ones.


Life Community Church's World Harvest Day



Hockessin’s Ensemble, Level 2B, and Level 3 classes performed at Newark's Life Community Church's World Harvest Day on Oct. 27. The event celebrates the many different generations and cultures at the church.
